Open House Projects

Finally, the stress of Open House is over! And I can honestly say it was a HUGE success! Here is what we ended up creating:

Next to each of their portraits, they wrote a quick "All About Me" paragraph. We have been working on main idea and supporting details. We made sure to include that in our writing.

This year, I wanted to make Open House interactive for students and parents. Since we are studying measurement, we created a measurement challenge and school wide scavenger hunt. The kids and parents really enjoyed. If the students completed both activities, they received a small prize!

I put this welcome desk outside of my classroom. It included Open House activities: School Scavenger Hunt and Measurement Challenge.

And, I had this awesome Parent Pride Anchor Chart (Found the idea from my Spectacular Second Grade Facebook Group). I wrote each students name on a post-it note, and had the parents respond to the prompt. It was a super big success!!!! (Unfortunately, the poster also fell and ripped at the top).
